Gracie was brought to Kitty City during the McBride fire in Ruidoso by her owner who had to evacuate. It was a sad day for both Gracie and her owner. Gracie has only had one home in her 8 years, having been adopted from the Ruidoso Humane Society. Sweet and gentle Gracie has understandably been very quiet and reserved. The staff worked diligently with her to get her out of her shell, and she finally feels assurance that she is safe and loved. Gracie is comfortable in her room and has made friends with all the other cats. When we go into her room, it is a common sight to see a pile of kitties napping, with Gracie right there in the center of the pile. No longer shy, Gracie now approaches staff and visitors for acknowledgment, attention and affection.
