Irie takes a while to trust and warm up to people. Once that happens, he becomes an affectionate and lovable kitty who likes to be pet. However, Irie will let you know when he has had enough handling. He does not like to be pet too long and will not allow his tummy to be rubbed. He is very vocal and prefers his own space.
Although Irie dislikes other cats, he has been introduced to another cat in his room, and they are tolerating each other if not pals. But for the sake of Irie's happiness, he absolutely MUST be an only cat in his adopted home! Irie does like dogs.
